The UK Covid-19 Enquiry started on 22 June 2022 to examine the UK’s response to, and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and learn lessons for the future.
We know how much the pandemic affected the lives of many blind and partially sighted people and The RNIB is supporting the Covid-19 Inquiry’s ‘Every Story Matters’ programme to ensure that everyone has a chance to share their experience of how the pandemic impacted their lives.
RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey was joined by Sophie Dodgeon, RNIB’s Interim Head of Policy and Public Affairs along with Caroline Volrath RNIB Senior Manager, Advice Line to firstly reflect on how the pandemic affected the lives of blind and partially sighted people and the important role the RNIB Helpline played at the time supporting visually impaired people.
Sophie then went on to explained the role that the RNIB is taking in the Covid-19 Inquiry and why it is so important for blind and partially sighted people to share how the pandemic affected them through the Inquiry’s ‘Every Story Matters’ programme.
