Key words around here at RNN are education, education, education. The same is true with our guest and his organization, Chris Gorrie, Campus President of Ecotech Institute. We love it.

But there is much more to this discussion, and Ecotech, than graduating talented, skilled students who can quickly fill the ranks of much-needed technicians around designing, planning, building, installing and maintaining wind, solar and other forms of clean energy. They are also the group tracking a critical economic number–the overall growth in what they call the “Clean Jobs Index”.

Job growth in any vertical is key. This industry is not growing–they are booming. The demand for quality labor is mushrooming. That is a key sign that this part of our commercial mix is safe, secure and running at full speed.

We hope that Ecotech and other schools can keep up with the demand. We hope, too, the Index grows rapidly. That is good news for the US labor market, a real success story for a new market and an incentive for all of us to participate in the fast-paced green economy.
