Norman Quentin Cook also known as "Fatboy Slim'' is one of the most renowned, award-winning DJs, musicians, and record producers/mixers of our time. He was an integral part of a music revolution that helped the 'big beat' genre attain mainstream popularity in the 1990s and in his solo career has won a Grammy and 9 MTV Awards, with a number-one album and many number-one hits. He’s had several aliases and been a member of a number of groups including The Mighty Dub Katz, Pizzaman, Beats International, Freak Power, and DJ Quentox (The OX that Rocks), and even made it into the Guinness World Records for having the most top 40 hits under different names. Norman is an active Ambassador for the local Brighton charity, Martlets Hospice and plays a key part in their fundraising. He is passionate about helping others and has teamed up with the NHS to provide DJ workshops to people with severe mental health problems. As a fellow native of our hometown, Norman joined our host, Sophie Corbett, to talk about all things music, life, family and his love of Brighton.
