Improvisation is part of EVERY pen and paper rpg. Be it an a oneshot in a rule light system or an ongoing adventure with you friends, you will always find yourself in a position where you will need to improvise something out of nowhere. In this episode I am joined by Sam Comerford to talk about running fully (or mostly) improvised games. We go over: - The rules of improv comedy and how they apply to TTRPGs, - How to get into the right headspace for improvisation, - The differences between one-shot and ongoing games, - Tools and tricks, and much more! If you'd like to know more about Sam and his work, I encourage you to check him out on Twitter: @RRollplaying or check out his twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/spontaniumshow/about happy gaming, much love Mat -————— Affiliate Links & Such: DriveThruRPG: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?affiliate_id=3513284 Hero Forge: https://www.heroforge.com/tap/?ref=roleplaychat 1985 Games: https://1985games.com/role_play_chat OR use the code ROLE_PLAY_CHAT at checkout. Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/role_play_chat ————— Role Play Chat is a biweekly podcast where Mat sits down with content creators from the table top roleplaying game community to take deep dives into #ttrpg related topics (for games such as #DungeonsandDragons, Fates, Warhammer or Call of Cthulhu). These informal discussions are filled with stories, advice, insights and hopefully will serve as inspiration for fellow Game Masters and Players. Where to you find the show?
