Welcome to 'Round About Campus, the podcast for the About Campus magazine, the scholarly magazine of ACPA-College Student Educators International. In this episode, co-hostesses Alex C. Lange and Z Nicolazzo talk with Dr. Stephanie Waterman.
Dr. Stephanie Waterman, Onondaga Turtle Clan, is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education in the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) and coordinates the Student Development/Student Services in Higher Education program. She is also the Academic Advisor on Indigenous Curriculum and Education under the Vice-President and Provost for the University of Toronto. Her research interests are First Nations/Native American college experiences, First Nations/Native American Student Affairs units, the role staff play in student retention, Indigenous methodologies, college transition, and critical race theories. She was recently awarded the ASHE Council on Ethnic Participation’s Mildred García Award for Exemplary Scholarship: Senior Scholar and has co-edited a new book with Routledge entitled Developments Beyond the Asterisk: New Scholarship and Frameworks for Understanding Native Students in Higher Education.
