The first step to starting any podcast is figuring out what you’ll be talking about, and for many of our clients, the question comes down to should you have an interview show with guests or would you rather be the star of the show? There are ways to promote yourself and your business by featuring guests in every show, but some people want to control the conversation focus on the work they’re doing.

In this video, we’re going to weigh the challenges and benefits of each approach. There is no right or wrong answer, but understanding the prep work that goes into each of these options will help you figure out which might be more feasible for you. Plus, we’ll even present you with option that’s a compromise between the two.

Here’s some of what we discuss in this episode:

0:00 – Intro

1:22 – Why you want to define this

4:58 – Benefits of interview style

10:05 – Cons of the interview style

14:52 – Benefits of you being the star

17:53 – Cons of you being the star

21:42 – A compromise
