Neuralink lets patient play CS2 with his mind

The second patient to be fitted with Elon Musk’s Neuralink implant has been making remarkable progress, and he can now pwn n00bs with the power of his mind. Conducted at the Barrow Neurological Institute, the surgery went smoothly, and patient Alex was discharged the following day. The first day of using the implant was a total success, with Alex able to control a computer cursor with his mind, and soon he was able to start using computer aided design (CAD) tools, control a 3D printer, and even play Counter-Strike 2, all via the implant, Link. Which is remarkable, because Alex suffered from a spinal cord injury several years ago, and is now a quadriplegic.
The ability to control a computer with his mind, as opposed to just using a mouth-operated ‘Quadstick,’ is a major breakthrough in the field. ‘The Link is a big step on the path of regaining freedom and independence for myself,’ Alex said, describing the ability to play video games again as ‘insane.’ So far, his Link allows him to control a second stick, for want of a better term, giving him back control over independent movement (via his Quadstick) and aim (with Link). The hope is that further development will allow the decoding of complex interactions, such as multiple clicks and movements simultaneously, handwriting recognition, and speech synthesis. Ultimately, the goal of the Link is to connect users to the real world, allowing users to control robotic arms and wheelchairs, and truly get their independence back.
