Maurice Cook is the founder & executive director of Serve Your City DC. He has been helping underserved communities in the capital for two decades. In his interview with Lee Camp he's able to provide insights into how the city and society in general is best able to help the most vulnerable people in our society through the coronavirus crisis. They discuss the capital's response to the coronavirus, economic troubles, the incoming eviction crisis, and meeting the needs of people who have been swept under the rug by our society. Naomi Karavani discusses California's seeming inability to control the wildfires despite having access to extensive knowledge on how to prevent these massive, destructive fires. California's failures – as always seems to be the case – stem from corporate corruption, militarism, and short-sighted policy decisions such as stopping controlled burns. Anders Lee closes out the show with a historical report on that time the CIA helped overthrow the democratically elected government of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Patrice Lumumba tried to govern the nation he was leading in the interest of Congolese citizens but the CIA had other ideas.
