《璧玉弓》於1960年首次出版，作者楊昌年教授（筆名：獨抱樓主）與臺灣武壇三劍客（臥龍生、司馬翎、諸葛青雲）齊名，寫作風格獨特。《台灣武俠小說發展史》將獨抱樓主列為臺灣武俠二十大名家之一。
《璧玉弓》描述江湖七大宗派之一的綠弓派傳人鞏青麟，十歲時父母與惡賊劉夏光之過節需作了斷，父母拼死掩護青麟帶著傳家寶璧玉弓出逃後雙雙斃命，青麟誓報父母血海深仇，決心登上險峻的雁蕩峰頂，尋找雁湖老人拜師。十年嚴酷練功後，初出江湖的青麟與七大門派及七位各具不同性格的紅顏知己展開了曲折離奇的故事。
