General Dogra served in the Indian Army for over 37 years with a wide-ranging experience in Strategic Planning, Administration, Leadership and more. He was awarded Ati Vashisht Seva Medal in March 2019 by the President of India in recognition of "distinguished service of an exceptional order" He is a committed sportsman and an adventure enthusiast. He has undertaken a mountaineering expedition to 22,000 feet and cycled from Leh to Chandigarh over five of the highest mountain passes. He completed his first Ironman Austria at the age of 59 in July 2018 to become the first serving Indian Army officer and the only general in the world to do so.
