I have reprised this episode of Gabby Pettio's murder. Since this episode aired, her boyfriend and traveling companion, Christopher Laundrie, committed suicide after allegedly being protected by his parents and before Petito's body was found on Sept. 19, 2021, and Laundrie was found after his suicide on Sept. 21, 2021. This case and how the police handled the investigation when they first had contact with Petito and Laudrie during their travels. Even though Petito was visibly upset and stated that Laundrie had been physical with her, the police released them without any further investigation or follow-up for her safety.
