Rest In Peace to Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit, and condolences to his family, friends, fans, and all who have been affected by today's very sad news. The first time I saw Novacub play live was the first time anyone saw them play live because it was their first ever gig as a band. At the time I had taken a break from the podcast and was feeling particularly low. After seeing them play I felt newly inspired to return to this daily series, come what may. I talk about this on Episode 20. During the course of our conversation in today's episode, I say that this feels like a group therapy session. And I was only half joking when I said that. There was a lot of love shared in this episode, both for fellow band members and for the process and journey that has lead them to this point. I'm glad I could be there to witness it, and to play whatever small part I can in facilitating this type of sincere and heartfelt communication. It's important to tell the people closest to you how you feel about them while they are there. This episode is particularly long - not only because it was a long conversation that I had with the band - but because I also try to address these ideas in the intro and outro. Sorry if I come across as rambling, but I hope what I say makes sense. I'm enormously grateful to Novacub ( -- https://www.instagram.com/novacubmusic -- ) for their time, as well as the other bands that played last night(FLOUR BABIES, FINISH FLAG, PUBLICITY DEPARTMENT), and The Victoria in Dalston for playing host, and Adrian of DEATH TO EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT GUITAR MUSIC for putting on the show. And sorry again to Kirsty for stealing your drink. And if anyone out there is particularly affected by today's news, please seek help. -- https://www.samaritans.org/ -- Thanks for listening.
