RECIPE FOR DISASTER: Studying church history before you've thoroughly studied and have a deep knowledge and understanding of all the doctrines of Holy Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The only, the real HIS-STORY you need is Genesis to Revelation! Once a disciple has studied the contents of Holy Writ, it is doubtful that he will desire to waste God's time studying un-inspired church history which is a mixed bag as in contrast with the very Word of God which is given by His inspiration (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
