The pageant world is often seen as a place of glam and grace, but with the recent resignation of both Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, it's time to talk about what many of us have experienced behind closed doors. While there is the mental health crisis we have started talking more about, the reasons behind those struggles are often misunderstood.
With over 25+ years of combined pageant experience and personal experience as state titleholders, we're ready to see a change in the industry. In this episode, we get real, honest, and transparent about what we think are solutions to an ongoing mistreatment and misalignment with women's empowerment in the pageant world.
Part one focuses on the socio-emotional and soft skills needed to run an organization that we think are often looked over or simply not upheld.
Every contestant knows the struggle of restricted access to resources, lack of support and communication, and lack of autonomy. In this episode, we dissect the dichotomy in the pageant world and call out the need for systemic change and empowerment.
Let's bring it back to the core values of grace, boundaries, and accountability. These aren't just buzzwords; they're lifelines in navigating and leading the pageant industry.
