This Friday is National Random Acts of Kindness Day and so I wanted to talk about the importance of practicing acts of kindness in our lives.

And this isn’t something that you should just focus on one day, this should be a way of life for all of us. As I researched ideas for random acts of kindness I found some that irked me.

Be kind to a server at restaurant

Connect with a good conversation

Be a good listener

Write a positive comment online

Give someone the benefit of the doubt

These were just a few of the suggestions that bothered me when I read them, because isn’t this just sort of a base level decent human behavior? Have we sunk so low that just not being a jerk is the same as being kind? No, I don’t think we have, so let's set the bar a lot higher and let’s practice some radical acts of kindness.
