I am continuing walk on week and today’s story is about Greg Camarillo, who caught one of the most famous touchdown passes in Miami Dolphins history. Though it was famous because it saved them from a potential 0-16 season.
But Greg was never meant to be in the NFL, that was never his plan when he finished high school and was trying to decide whether to attend Harvard or Stanford. He chose Stanford and walked onto the football team as a punter.
But he shanked his first two punt opportunities. Embarrassed but undeterred Greg continued to work and made the team as a wide receiver. After college Greg decided he wanted to try to continue to play football and he was signed by the San Diego Chargers after a tryout.
It was three years later when he made the famous catch with the Dolphins. His hard work and preparation led him to a solid 8 year NFL career and today he continues to teach others how to prepare whether it’s for college or for a life after sports.
