In 1998, he bought a community newspaper and implemented programs to give businesses more control over their advertising. He expanded his reach by working with local chambers and built a reputation for connecting businesses with each other. Recognizing the rise of digital marketing, he created a digital agency within the newspaper to offer a wider range of marketing solutions. This approach helped him grow the business significantly before selling it in 2014.
Since then, Boyd has focused on helping businesses with marketing plans, training entrepreneurs, and writing business books. He remains passionate about helping businesses succeed and enjoys sharing his knowledge and insights.
