It may have been a great publicity stunt, but the decision by Elon Musk and his team at Tesla to switch a required dummy weight for the top of their new rocket for a Tesla Roadster instantly made news around the world and generated a number of memorable images of the vehicle against the stunning backdrop of the Earth. Steve and Ben examine this moment and its impact on space travel, particularly with the private sector now stepping in to the void left by government-funded space programs by funding this century's further attempts at space travel.
