Sihle Ngxabi is a PhD candidate in Horticultural Sciences at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in South Africa. He has achieved outstanding academic success, graduating cum laude for both his BTech and MSc degrees. His research focuses on Trachyandra ciliata, an indigenous edible plant, and its potential to strengthen food security. Sihle has overcome significant financial and transport challenges during his studies, relying on his strong mentality and support from lecturers.
He received CPUT's Vice-Chancellor’s Prestigious Achievers Award, enabling him to fully engage with his research and publish peer-reviewed papers. Sihle hopes his work will contribute to sustainable development and CPUT’s vision to become a leading smart university in South Africa.
