If you’re hitting the road for Memorial Day weekend, buckle up and stay alert. Last year, 810 people died on roads in Washington State, the highest number of traffic fatalities since 1990.

Seattle Times transportation reporter Nick Deshais explains what we know about the increase and what solutions are in the works.
