Sabeena Ladha—the founder and CEO of Deux, the good-for-you cookie dough company—is completely revolutionizing the relationship between health-conscious eating and notoriously sweet foods by refusing to compromise taste and health. Ladha launched the enhanced cookie dough with flavors like Chocolate Chip with immune support, Brownie Batter with collagen support, and Ginger Doodle with stress-relieving ingredients such as ashwagandha. Only about a year old, Deux has already landed on the shelves of renowned L.A.-based health-food mecca Erewhon as its best-selling cookie dough brand. But before Ladha began disrupting the sweets industry, she worked at major food conglomerates Diamond Foods and PepsiCo, where she worked on the largest chip brand in the world, Lays. She then became a consultant at McKinsey & Company and subsequently ran a venture studio at M13. On this episode of Second Life, find out how all of Ladha’s past experiences led her to a deeper understanding of the world of consumer packaged goods in order to disrupt it.
