Greetings, Leaders.

Timing is everything in life and career! Sometimes, we get what we pray for; at other times, we must wait.

What are you trusting God for and waiting for Him to provide?

Keep your focus on God and not your circumstances or feelings. Remember, His promises never fail.

Most leaders do not like waiting. Our age is one of instant expectations.

The most valuable principle in our life and career journey is learning how to wait and, while we wait, expectantly stay in step with God and His timing.

I learned from King David the SELDI Career Principle 2: "The 3 Ps are invaluable.: Patience, Perseverance, Practice

Patience: David waited for God to open the door for him to be king.

He overcame doubts, fears, and frustrations because He trusted God.

He writes, "I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He took notice of me and heard my cry. He listened to me and heard my cry." Psalm 40:1

Perseverance: When the circumstances seem impossible, the task ahead appears too large, and you wonder if you can make it, persevere. Keep moving forward one step at a time.

Our sales team pursued a significant opportunity for over a year. Multiple changes in decision-makers, business objectives, and company dynamics made my sales team and me wonder if we should give up the pursuit.

I recalled how King David cried out to God and followed his leadership example. We won the business, the most significant victory in my sales career.

"Now the just shall live by faith, but if anyone draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him." Hebrews 10:38

Continuing to do what we know to do as we wait with expectation for God pleases God because it demonstrates our trust in Him for the outcome.

"Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame." Psalm 25:3

Practice: Do your work heartily as unto the LORD, for your reward comes from Him. Do not grow weary in doing what is right, for you will receive a reward in God's perfect timing. Expectation, anticipation, and preparation are the steps to take in faith while you wait for God's best in your life and career.

Remember this promise from God as you wait.

"From days of old, they have not heard or perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him." Isaiah 64:4

Three rewards for waiting.

  1. We gain new strength for life and career journey.
  2. We experience God and His miracles in our life and career journey.
  3. You become an encouragement for others you meet in your life and career journey.

"I waited patiently for the LORD. He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of destruction and the sticky mud. He stood me on a rock and made my feet steady. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many people will see this and worship him. Then they will trust the LORD."

Psalm 40: 1-3

Victory!
