They called it "epic" and "Oscar bound"...Nate Parker's film, The Birth of a Nation. Sadly the box office did not reflect the praise. Some say it's about Nate Parker's history. Others say the public is tired of slave movies. We ask the question, "What does it take for an African American film to become Oscar worthy?" On the next Another View we'll hear perspective from Monty Ross, Filmmaker; Anthony Stockard, Director, Division of Drama and NSU Theatre Company; and Kenya Cummins, a Hampton University film student.
