When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Oh man, how can anyone follow up the such a hugely successful first outing? Am I referring to Weezer or this podcast? YOU DECIDE. Either way, the answer is to retreat into weirdness. Jen and Patrick scrape together demos and B-sides to explore the fabled album-that-could-have-been: Songs from the Black Hole. They discuss scary singing robots and hypothetical cats named Moog. Plus, a frank discussion of the plot of Angus, which neither host has seen. Then, they wrap it all up with a discussion of Matt Sharp’s first outing without Rivers (oh no!): Return of the Rentals.
