Tanto tanto tempo fa, quando ancora il tempo era senza tempo, nelle valli, nei boschi e nelle colline della Sardegna, una grande isola, che sta al centro del mar Mediterraneo, vivevano le Janas, conosciute come le fate di Sardegna. Erano creature misteriose assai piccole, con piccole ali, e straordinariamente belle. Tanto che ancora oggi, quando si vuol fare un complimento ad una fanciulla, si dice “sei bella come una Jana”.
Le Janas avevano grandi poteri di magia, ed erano così fragili che potevano spezzarsi per un niente. Bastava un soffio forte di vento e le loro ali perdevano forza. […]
