Docker: Not even a Hypervisor (Containers for OpenStack) [English] by Erkan Yanar (Freiberufler) Freitag, 09.05.2014, Stage D, 17:00-17:30 Uhr Track: OpenStack DACH Day 2014 This talk will be about using Docker as a 'hypervisor' for OpenStack. Docker is a way to use LXC to virtualize single applications. So you will learn about Docker and LXC. LXC is doing OSVirtualization (Contianer) in opposite to the known Hypervisors as KVM, Xen, VMWare. With LXC you have practically no overhead. You gonna learn the benefits and drawbacks using OSVirtualization (LXC) in general and about the benefits and drawbacks using Docker/LXC in OpenStack. As there is a working Docker - but not a pure LXC - integration into OpenStack, we gonna show how Docker is integrated into OpenStack. And how to use it for your Deployments. .
