Martling, who still performs standup across the island and beyond, has been doing comedy since the 1970s, and is a life-long Long Islander now living in Bayville. He recently published biographical accounts of his life in the book The Joke Man: Bow to Stern. Nick and Mike sat with Martling in his kitchen, where they talked Stern, the history of jokes and what makes Long Islanders funnier than everyone else.
