There are many iconic images that stick with people over time, and the DeLorean DMC-12 whizzing through town to take Marty McFly Back to the Future is definitely one of those. We didn’t see too much of the DeLorean automobile in general. Why is that? Who the heck is DeLorean anyway? John DeLorean made his way through the automotive industry, gaining acclaim for his work at GM. Once he went out on his own, history was made, but the long-term prospects weren’t good. Why didn’t the DeLorean pan out? How fast did Marty McFly need to get up to in order to fly off? Did DeLorean get the shaft in the end?
