In episode 58, Jacqueline and Kevin talk about a statement that someone made saying “If a 500-pound person walked into a Krispy Kreme I would be disgusted but if they are in a gym I will support them”. Jacqueline and Kevin go into how statements like this can be very harmful and how we cannot shame someone or body shame, someone, into changing. Jacqueline shares how she used to be over 500 pounds and talks about some insights as to how this makes her feel. She shares some inspiration for anyone struggling with their relationship with food and their body and how you can try to ignore these comments so you can truly be able to do what is best for you. When it comes to weight loss or extreme weight loss, wanting to change has to come from within. People can truly change when they feel loved, and supported, not just in a gym but in life. Jacqueline and Kevin talk about how making your mental health a priority is a key to success and how important it is to stop putting a moral value on food labeling it as good or bad. They discuss how it is important to change the relationship you have with yourself and with food. They discuss how important it is to never judge anyone because you never know what they have been through or where they are going. Ultimately we need to worry about our own mental health and remember to treat others the way we would like to be treated. We don't know where anyone else is coming from or what got them to the point in life where they are right now. Passing hard judgments or making assumptions about others can cause more pain than you realize.
