Episode 51

Text: Exodus 7:1-12
Title: “Trust the Process”
Theme: Obedience
Key Verse: Exodus 7:6

Process- “a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end:”
Trust is vital in our relationship with God. It is the key to not only faithfulness but intimacy.
• Why do you think trust is so vital to intimacy with God?
• What are the dangers of physically being faithful but not trusting Him?

Introduction:
• Who: Moses & Aaron
• What: The Contest with Pharoah (second demand)
• Where: Egypt
• When: Before the Exodus
• Why: Fulfillment of God’s plan of Deliverance
• How:
A. Relinquish
• Relinquish “voluntarily cease to keep or claim; give up:”
• Why is it so difficult for us to do this?
o People still want to think there is good in man.
o We have a hard time, even those who believe “All have sinned and come short”
B. Reliance v.2,3
• “hardened” is a figurative word that means “twisted” … it means God was going to get out of Pharoah what He wanted. It doesn’t mean Pharoah was a really good guy but God made him evil so He could beat him.
• Moses and Aaron needed to trust in God and only God.
• What are some battles we have to fight after surrendering when we are actually doing the task?

C. Resilience v. 4-7
• Score = 20. Moses was 80 and Aaron was 83.
• Pharoah refused to listen.
• Resilience – “the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness:”
• Egypt would know that it was the Lord God who would deliver Israel.
Outline: answer but with a verse, and let’s write down in our journals.
1. What is the Process here in Exodus 7?
2. How can this be related to God’s Will today?
3. How can we Relinquish ourselves to God? (give a scripture)
4. How can we better Rely upon God? (give a scripture)
5. How can we have Resilience when doing god’s will regardless of the outcome?
