Travis Smith broke the mold for Porter-Gaud Basketball. Jermel spent a season coaching with Travis at Porter-Gaud with Coach JP. They would have great talks about life and basketball, and basketball and life.

One of the topics they heavily discussed was Skeezer vs. Public!! The transition from Public to Private and then advantages and disadvantages of transitions.

About Travis Smith: Travis Smith was born and raised in Charleston, SC and attended Porter-Gaud School. Following high school he was awarded a full scholarship to play collegiate basketball at Mercer University where he graduated from in 2013. After college Travis played professional basketball overseas for a few years in several countries around the world, before returning home to Charleston. Since moving back to Charleston, Travis has been heavily involved in youth athletics as a coach, mentor, and personal trainer. Currently Travis works at his alma mater Porter-Gaud in the Alumni office and as a Coach. In addition to that, he volunteers as a summer basketball coach with Trademark Properties AAU organization (TMP).
