Load management is more than just the latest buzzword in sports! Much like athletes in other sports, Jiu Jitsu practitioners are more likely to be injured when they are unfit physically, mentally or not properly rested. Load management is an approach that is meant to monitor and control an athlete's overall readiness to perform. Things that impact load management are physical fitness, emotional stress, outside influences, family, work, and competition! Knowing the grind that it takes to learn and grow in our sport, Jiu Jitsu practitioners can benefit from understanding the concepts of load management.
