*Content Warning: This episode contains frank discussion of death, death doulas, and funerary practices. Please exercise caution while listening if these are difficult subjects for you.*

The Mothball Prophecies has been fortunate in that we've had more than one guest with detailed knowledge of Sam's pet subject: Victorian hair work. Even with the advent of the internet and its ability to connect those with similar interests, finding people with working knowledge of such a niche topic is difficult. This is why our guest this week is an actual living, breathing unicorn. Sam's unicorn, as Jill so aptly put it. Gina is not only a knowledgeable collector of mourning hair pieces, she actually makes hair jewelry using authentic methods and real Victorian patterns. Her techniques are true to the 19th century but entirely self taught, augmented slightly by YouTube. We get to hop through the looking glass into the world of death in the west and the industries connected to it. This episode is pretty much a fairy tale. Gina wanting to be on the show, waiting to ask, being unsure if the team would say yes. Sam foaming at the mouth while fondling dead people's hair. It's a dream come true for everyone involved.
