This podcast features funny and engaging conversations, with friends and guests, from various creative backgrounds. The simple aim is to have an interesting chat. Using my version of the Proust questionnaire, we aim to have fun and see where we end up. This might sound pretentious, but it's not. It's just good fun and an excellent way to spend 30 mins of your life. Enjoy !!

A couple of weeks back had the pleasure of talking to one of my oldest friends from back in the day. The highly talented fashion photographer Evan Doherty. Evan can be easily described as one of Ireland leading fashion and commercial photographers. He has stacked up a fantastic portfolio of work that counts enormous brands such as H&M, Jameson Whiskey, Bulmers and RTE, and high-class models and celebrities such as Ros Purcell and Conor McGregor, to name but a few, as clients of his. He is top of his game in his profession, and I was delighted that he gave me his time to come on the show. We go way back to primary school days, and when we were getting into music and interests, that would shape who we would become. It was great catching up with an old friend, and I think you will enjoy this episode. http://thisisevan.com/ https://www.instagram.com/evndoherty/ https://www.independent.ie/life/food-drink/a-taste-for-life-photographer-evan-doherty-on-his-love-for-roast-dinners-and-whiskey-39421707.html https://lovindublin.com/sponsored/top-irish-photographer-evan-doherty-gives-us-some-amazing-tips…
About five weeks ago, I had the fantastic opportunity to talk to an artist who I'm following at the moment—the fantastic collage artist Sorcha O Higgins. Before we sat down to do a zoom call, I had never met Sorcha before, so it was fun to interview her and learn more about her work. The images she creates are fun, colourful pieces that are full of humour. They pop from the page when you see them. Check Sorchas work out by following the links below. She works with many other mediums and has gone on a journey to get to where she is now. Something which we talk about along with a lot of various other topics in this week's show. Enjoy. https://www.sorchaohiggins.com/workshops-2 https://www.sorchaohiggins.com/ https://www.instagram.com/sorchaoh_collage/ https://www.hensteethstore.com/products/the-queen-s-ecstasy-by-sorcha-ohiggins https://www.dublininquirer.com/2020/07/01/an-architect-turned-artist-embraces-the-medium-of-collage-and-pops-up-all-across-the-city…
About two-week ago, I had the chance to catch up with one of my longest and closest friends, the legend who goes by the name of Barry Lennon. I've known now Barry since primary school days and as long as I have known him, Barry has also been involved with and pushing forward various exciting and creative projects. Currently, he is the Director of the enormous nationwide event called the ''Irish Youth Music Awards''. The IYMA'S are a youth music education programme. Its main aim is to support, develop and nurture future young musicians and creatives around the country. As well as steering this massive project, he also manages and works with one of Irelands most interesting and exciting acts at the moment, with the fantastic ''Katie Kim''. He set up one of the most critical and influential independent labels Ireland has seen in recent memory with ''The Richter Collective ''. Working with such acts as ''Squarehead'', ''Adebisi Skank'', ''Bats'', ''Enemies'', ''The Redneck Manifesto'' and many many more, the label was a massive force to be reckoned with while it was running. I was delighted to have Barry on the show. It was great to catch up with him and see where the conversation led us. Do check out the links to the various acts Barry has been involved with over the years with this week's show. http://www.iymas.ie/ https://katiekim.bandcamp.com/album/salt https://open.spotify.com/artist/0Ajygg40idKKnMtcuKUXbh?autoplay=true https://www.irishtimes.com/blogs/poplife/2012/06/06/the-richter-collective-label-will-be-no-more-in-december-2012/ https://richtercollective.bandcamp.com/…
A few weeks ago now, I was delighted with the chance to talk to a good friend and all-around legend, Eoin ''Fuz'' Reilly. I've known Fuz for a long time now. He was never too far away when we both played in Galway with numerous bands back in the day. He's a great guy and someone who has a big heart, who now finds himself in one of the most exciting bands coming out of Ireland at the moment, Slyrydes. Having released a string of excellent singles over the last while, the band has built up a buzz around them, leading them to record their debut album despite the obstacles of the lockdowns. Check out the links provided with this weeks show if you are not aware of them. You won't be disappointed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iwjmtBPw4w https://slyrydes.com/ https://slyrydes.bandcamp.com/ https://www.instagram.com/slyrydes/?hl=en https://mcd.ie/artists/slyrydes/…
Just towards the end of February this year, I had the pleasure of having a great chat with the legend that is ''Midnight Wayne''. Midnight Wayne, also known as Wayne Soper, used the front of the brilliant Dublin band ''The Hot Sprockets''. The Sprockets were a tight-knit gang in the truest sense of the word. They looked great and had the tunes to back it up. Together for nearly 15 years, the band released three studio albums and toured extensively all over. Just over two years ago, the band decided to go their separate ways and explore different musical projects. Soper set up Midnight Wayne, and it is a million miles away from what he was doing in the Sprockets. Musically it's a complete reinvention and touches on many different influences. No genres are off-limits, which is part of the joy. Every song is self-written, performed and produced at his home studio. They are a melting pot of different ideas of sounds. In other words, they sound fantastic. Check them out by following the link below. About six weeks ago, I enjoyed having a fun chat with the fantastic Lana Mcghee towards the end of February. One half of the tremendous clothing range with a difference ''Beannantees''. Along with Bessie mate Ciara Gallagher, the duo have set up a fun clothing range that, in their own words, is '' a range of empowering apparel for Wild Irish Women (or whoever the hell wants to wear them)'' The designs are fun and have a lot of humour to them. But the girls also donate a percentage of the profits sold to various charities close to their hearts. So there not just a fashion brand. There is a genuine heart to them, and they are a great bunch of heads doing great work. Lana is involved with many other projects, whether it is working with various bands or working on Other Voices, she is a busy woman, and I was glad to get her on the show. It was fun and one I think you will all enjoy !!.. Check out the girls by following the work below. https://beanantees.com/ https://www.instagram.com/beanantees/ https://www.facebook.com/beanantees/ https://twitter.com/Beanantees https://lovin.ie/lifestyle/beanantees-team-up-with-women-in-harmony-for-charity-t-shirt…
Before Christmas last year, I met up with Dublin based producer Dan Doherty down at his recording studio, ''Darkland Audio''. Located in the creative hub known as ''The Chocolate Factory'' Dan has worked hard over the years to set up and create one of the best new studios in the city. And I was delighted that he took time out from his busy schedule to allow me to come down have a chat. Dan and I go way back. We were in various bands together (Sickboy / Ghost Estates) for ten plus years and shared many fun times. Since then, he has gone on to be a producer in demand and has worked with many artists and on many various projects while raising his family and setting up Darklands. So it was great to meet and have a proper catch-up face to face. Be warned, though, in this episode, the language is very blue. So if you are sensitive, you have to be wanted !! Back at the beginning of the year, in mid-January. In the depths of winter and lockdown 3, I had the pleasure of having a lovely, funny and engaging chat with the fantastic Dublin based artist Leah Hewson. Leah is a mover and shaker at the moment in the modern art world in both Ireland and abroad, and I was delighted that she gave me her time. Her style is abstract geometrical patterns and textures and bright, vibrant colours. She is influenced by studies of human behaviour and the unconscious mind and tries to visualise these studies in a visual art form. It's hypnotic and really draws you in, and is fantastic stuff, so do take the time to check out her work by following the links below. http://www.leahhewson.com/ https://www.instagram.com/leahhewson/?hl=en http://www.leahhewson.com/store/p7/Almightyfizz.html https://www.narsfoundation.org/leah-hewson https://www.ateliermaser.com/events/2020/2/13/assemble-our-first-exhibition-of-2020 http://www.rhagallery.ie/exhibitions/new-work/ https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=892580401485914 https://www.thebonnymen.ie/ https://soundcloud.com/thefamilyknife https://ghostestates.bandcamp.com/…
Late last year, around September, I sat down with the multi-talented, all-round legend Garr Cleary. Garr is multi-talented and is always up to something. He is a cameraman by trade but is also a musician and a lecture in Dublin TU. He is full of energy and always has a million and one projects on the go, and I was grateful that he took time out to have a chat. We touched on a wide range of topics over some home-cooked apple crumble and had a good laugh in the process. Enjoy !! https://vimeo.com/user14831617 https://www.breakingtunes.com/garrcleary https://garrcleary.bandcamp.com/ https://www.youtube.com/user/Gmoneycleary https://ie.linkedin.com/in/garr-cleary-a7065a11b…
