This week Chefs Chris & Juice are joined by Chef Gerard Kenny to interview Riley Redfern, ex-3-Michelin starred pastry chef turned software engineer. We chronical her journey from a teenager with a copy of Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential to becoming one of the top pastry chefs in the country. We discuss her battle with depression and alcohol, how the hospitality industry contributed to the problem, and how the pandemic exposed the foibles of the hospitality industry.
Sustainability doesn't always mean your buying solar panels, composting, or cooking on induction. Sustainability also means taking care of yourself and your mental health. Riley exemplifies this and is an incredible person, her story should serve as a cautionary tale and an inspiration to us all.
