On Memorial Day, we remember with gratitude the heroes who died for our country and our freedom. We are truly fortunate to live in a nation where we can pursue our hopes and dreams.

We owe our freedom to the ultimate sacrifice my fellow service members made. As you enjoy the holiday, please take a moment to reflect on the many blessings that come with being an American and remember not only the people who died to make that possible but also their families.

I will be celebrating with a moment of silence and a bottle of bubbly. To calmly reflect on where I have been as a person, a soldier, and where I am today.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and what a perfect time to reach out to someone to just say "Hey" and ask them "How are you?"

Something as simple as that could be life-changing!
