Terri Kozlowski is an author and a coach from Woodstock, GA. She is passionate about helping women overcome their fear and limiting beliefs. Today she talks about her trauma at an early age and her transformational journey to discover her authentic self.

A favorite quote shared: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.” -Marianne Williamson

The quote speaks to the innate power we all have. But we're afraid to actually use the power of choice that we get to make every single day. We get to choose whether or not we're going to be happy. We get to choose whether or not we take the next step towards our dreams. But the problem is we all stay in the fear and in staying in the fear and listening to the lies of the ego. We stay trapped in a place we don't want to be in, a place we complain about instead of actually consciously making the decision, “Today's the day I'm going to step forward towards the life I want”.

After experiencing traumatic events in her childhood, her first awareness that change was needed came when a friend pointed out that she seemed attached to being a victim. It made her think and she realized that if she stayed in victimhood, she would never be a survivor. She decided that moving forward she was going to be a survivor, not a victim. What that meant was she had to take responsibility for my life.

Terri points out that when you take responsibility for the choices that you are making, you empower yourself because that means you can change. Perception is the key to how we change. When we change our perception and we look at something from a different point of view rather than from fear, we can change how the future looks. The past is not an indication of the future because you have the control and you have the choice to choose a different path this time.

Terri shares her favorite habit which is her morning routine. She gives herself the first hour of the day to meditate, journal, and write “I am” statements. It’s a powerful practice because our words create our reality.
