How many closets can someone come out of? Brian Buford left the seminary because it couldn't accept him for who he was as a gay man. He came to sacred mushrooms and was able to accept himself as he is more than ever. His incredible story is sure to inspire.

Brian is the Executive Director for University Culture and Employee Success at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. With 35 years of service to the university, Brian has dedicated his career to building a campus community where all students, faculty, and staff feel welcome, safe, and included.

Key achievements under his leadership include opening a staffed LGBT Center in 2007, the first of its kind in Kentucky; earning a five-star rating on the Campus Pride index six years in a row; and leading the effort to being named the most LGBT-welcoming campus in the United States by LGBT Outfitters. In 2020, he launched the Employee Success Center, dedicated to making the university a great place to work by offering opportunities for personal and professional growth to faculty and staff.
