The Jennifer J. Hammond podcast features an interview with Mark a short-term rental and Airbnb expert who runs a property management company in Canada with his wife, Kirsten.

They got into short-term rentals by accident after purchasing a house with a basement apartment. They started renting out the basement apartment on Airbnb after experiencing some good and bad long-term renters.

They eventually bought a second house and turned it into a duplex, renting out both units on Airbnb.

Due to the conservative nature of banks in Canada towards self-employed entrepreneurs, they started a property management company to manage other people's Airbnb properties.

Mark and Kirsten also have a background in other businesses, and during the pandemic, they decided to expand their Airbnb business by offering virtual experiences.
