Episode 133: Become A Health Advocate
Manage episode 402790071 series 2928156
In this episode, I'm going to talk openly about something important - being a health advocate. Yep, it's been on my mind lately, especially because my husband and I have been helping out my mother-in-love a lot. And let me tell you, having someone to speak up for you in medical situations is super important.
I'll tell you about my experience helping Todd's mother who's dealing with cancer. It's been tough but taught me a lot about standing up for loved ones when they need it most. I've seen how tough it can be without someone to advocate for you, so I want to stress how vital it is to have support and good communication with doctors.
Personally, I think it's best to care for family at home if possible. It's cozier and more familiar, which can really help during tough times. I'll also talk about why it's essential to be careful with medical treatments and make sure you understand what's going on.
I encourage you to think about being a health advocate for yourself or someone else. It can make a big difference in their journey through illness.
