If you are a business fan, a sports fan, a technology fan, a family values person or someone who loves hearing how people at the top think about their organizations, this is the podcast for you.

Sameer Ahuja is a successful businessman, entrepreneur and the President at GameChanger and we are so appreciative of him sharing his time with us. For those of you with kids or grandkids active in youth sports you KNOW GameChanger and you USE it regularly. Sameer is a great guy and I had a blast talking to him about the great work him and his team are doing.

Let me start by saying I have a 12 y/o son who is very involved in youth baseball and whose games we have been following on GC for as long as I can remember. On top of that, I have been one of the parents on our teams who runs GC during the games and scores the games. To say I am familiar with, and fond of, the app is an understatement. So this was a big treat for me.

Sameer tells us about the history of GC including its beginnings with the founders back in 2009. We talk about GC being acquired by Dicks Sporting Goods and its trajectory over the last 5 years with him as President. GC has now scored 40,000,000 games and has been used by 1,000,000 teams. GC highlights are now featured on MLB Network and MLB.com. Sameer shares the guiding principles of the company and how they view their role within youth sports and within families. Sameer tells the story of how the video feature and the highlight clip functions were born. He relieves the 'bet the company' decisions he made during Covid. Above all, Sameer considers GC a “happiness company”.

We talk about constant updates to GC and what may be coming around the corner. We talk about the simplicity of the app, suggestions he gets from users, the random places he hears of people watching GC, the perfect streaming set up and of course the bickering by parents over whether a batted ball was a hit or an error.

Sameer is a great follow on LinkedIn and you can find him at “Sameer Ahuja”
