We know that primary care professionals acknowledge the usefulness of patients’ gut feelings for their clinical reasoning. However, we do not precisely know the wordings and expressions patients use to voice their gut feelings and how they share them with professionals. The results we found may improve the professionals’ recognition of patients’ gut feelings and their insight into their background and enable further research into their validity.
