In primary care, the use of questions adapted from symptoms and risk factors identified by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) coordination to facilitate spirometry access, either alone or
combined, facilitates COPD detection. These interventions are relatively easy to implement in everyday clinical practice and can be adapted for countries in which most GPs are not trained to perform spirometry.
