Our guest this week, Maria Jose Palacio, shares how life brought her full circle to launching Progeny Coffee. From studying Industrial Design in Bogota, Columbia to then working in New York with luxury fashion brands like Marc Jacobs and Vera Wang, Maria’s journey brought her back to her roots - her family’s coffee business as a fifth-generation Colombian coffee farmer - with her very first contracts coming from Facebook and Google.

Maria gets candid about her journey, the challenges and the joys of being able to be an example for her children as she builds a business with a mission of empowering coffee farmers, helping their communities and lifting them out of poverty.

Maria has been recognized on Forbes Next 1000 list, 100 Female Founder of 2020 by Inc Magazine, Mujeres Imparables by Telemundo, 12 under 35 Breakout Talent to Watch by SFA, and the latest book "The New Latina - 100 Millennials shaping the World".

Maria and Progeny Coffee will also be featured in a short film produced by Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine that was featured at the EMMY’s and will be released at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023.
