Bull Run Festival of Lights with Elizabeth Partan, or "Is it Okay if I'm a Grinch?"
Manage episode 347892171 series 3340808
We're getting a jump start on the holiday season with the Bull Run Festival of Lights - a 2.5 mile trail of light displays and animatics, followed by a winter carnival. Health Science Specialist ELIZABETH PARTAN joins us to see how much good cheer we can muster in late November, as we journey through images of familiar storybook characters and scenes of winter wonder. We explore how our appreciation of light based attractions is connected to the stars and the sky, reflect on how being small in the universe can be a comfort, and excavate how an early childhood trauma can indirectly lead to a lifelong appreciation of colorful lights. All that, plus we meet and befriend a Camel named Sam!
Is the Bull Run Festival of Lights something you have to do before you die? Listen and find out!
