Overboard is a 1987 Romantic Comedy directed by Garry Marshall.
This is the story of Joanna Slayton played by Goldie Hawn. Joanna is filthy rich, she lives a life of style and fortune on her yacht with her husband Grant Slayton the Third played by Edward Hermann. Joanna, while in the seaside town of Elk Cove, Oregon, hires a carpenter to remodel her closet on her yacht. This carpenter is Dean Profitt, played by Kurt Russell. Joanna and Dean have a bitter argument BUT… through a series of strange events, Joanna ends up with total memory loss, amnesia after an accident falling off her yacht, and after she is not claimed by her husband Grant, she ends up in a web of lies regarding her past with Dean, who now claims she is HIS wife…
