Each month, more than a billion Facebook users buy and sell goods on Facebook Marketplace; however, they are not the only ones profiting from the platform. Scams on Facebook Marketplace are becoming more common: According to the most recent report from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), nine out of ten people who fell victim to an online shopping scam in 2021 said they were scammed through Facebook or Instagram.
