Step 3 - Keep it flowing
STEP 1 - Make it fun
- Use pop music or other music your students love
- Let them play A LOT
- Make it funny
STEP 2 - Make it easy
- Do NOT have your students read music
- Play everything in unison
- Keep it simple
Step 3 - Keep it flowing
- Have all music ready
- Echo-teaching is your friend
- Question and answer sessions work well
Bucket drumming do's
- Do use proper names for drum parts.
- Do allow students to make choices.
- Do use your spidey senses of observation to help you keep students engaged.
Bucket drumming don'ts
- Don’t have your students read the music.
- Don’t use more than 2 part harmony.
