Levana (Levi) Sani, Astrid Irwanto, Alexander (Sandro) Lezhava and Jianjun (JJ) Liu of NalaGenetics joins us today to share about their founding journey. NalaGenetics is a spin-out company from the Genomic Institute of Singapore (GIS).
NalaGenetics is enabling personalized medicine through genetic testing with the goal of having your genetic information, and thus pre-deposition to certain reactions, as ubiquitously available as your blood type. They started developing a $5 test kit to test for adverse reactions to Dapsone which is used to treat leprosy. In addition to continuing this first mission, the young company had a detour running COVID Ops in Indonesia while also building up genetic test kits and software as a medical device enabling hospital systems to run personalized medicine.
