What does it take to go from working the midnight shift in an insurance company to becoming CIO across multiple industries?

Edward Gustenhoven is the CIO of Dal-Tile LLC and former tech executive at Pabst Brewing Company, Deutsch Family Wine & spirits, Photronics and Diageo.

He had an unconventional path to becoming a tech leader - he started working in a computer room on the graveyard shift right out of high school, without going to college.

He emphasizes the importance of trust, integrity, and good communication when leading teams, especially during challenging projects like ERP implementations.

He advises against overthinking and paralysis by analysis, and instead advocates for having a clear plan and process while being flexible to change.
